Civil Engineering

Course Duration: 4 years

Course starts in:

Course Brief

Civil Engineering involves planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and supervising infrastructures which include facilities essential to modern life like highways, bridges and tunnels, schools, hospitals, airports , water treatment facilities etc. Subsequently, the course also involves protecting the public and environmental health as well as improving existing infrastructure. So that it requires strong base of practical knowledge .

That’s why BITM has emphasized on giving the students a stronghold on practical operations and build relation with every equipment since its inception. The institution is well equipped with various labs , multiple computer center with Hi-tech computers and make sure that every student has been allotted with a fixed number of hours for field training which provides the student hands-on-experience.

RESEARCH AREA
The Department of Civil Engineering has three major missions:
  • Excellence in teaching and research
  • Relevance to industry and society
  • Contribution to sustainable development.

To carry forward this mission and bring synergy in its activities, the department is organized into five major divisions:

  • Building Technology and Construction Management (BTCM)
  • Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE)
  • Geo technical Engineering (GT)
  • Structural Engineering (ST)
  • Transportation Engineering (TR)
