The Institute
Bengal
Institute of Technology and Management (BITM), Santiniketan;
dedicated to spread technical education amongst the knowledge aspirants of urban
and rural Bengal, started its journey on 20th August, 2001 under the
aegis Camellia Group. It is spreaded
across more than 45 acres of sprawling green campus. With a vision to impart standardized
quality education to the aspiring and prospective management professionals from
all corners of India and to ensure their integrated development with emotional
intelligence, it is engaged to equip young boys and girls with requisite
conceptual skills and attitudes to enable them to provide managerial and
technical inputs of highest standard to enrich various public and private
sectors. BITM, Santiniketan also desires to provide a platform for interaction
between students and corporate leaders to develop a rapport between Industries/
Business houses. The institute is affiliated to
West Bengal University of Technology and is proud to receive UGC 2(f)
acknowledgement.
The
leadership
Camellia Group, a conglomerate, is headed by
Mr. N.R. Dutta, Chairman. The group has expanded and flourished under his able
leadership. BITM, Santiniketan boasts of the proactive leadership of its
Director, Prof. (Dr.) C.T. Bhunia
(Ph.D., FIETE, FIE(I), SMIEEE)
who has an illustrated professional life both as an academician and researcher.
The
Resources
BITM, Santiniketan has harnessed its
resources over a period of ten long years and at present it is at the pinnacle
of development and growth. The major resources that the institute has at its
disposal are:

Faculty:
Highly qualified (with Ph.D., M.Phil.,
FICWA etc.) and Full-time Core and Non-Core faculty members with a
Teacher:Student ratio better than AICTE prescribed norm. In addition to this,
there are visiting professors both from academia and industry.

Laboratories:
Dedicated departmental computing lab and central computing facilities for the
students (terminal:student ratio 1:1) with high-speed internet connectivity and
licensed softwares like TALLY-ERP, SPSS, MATLAB, CAD CAM etc.
Ø
Library:
The automated Central Library (runs on LIBSYS) of the institute has more than
700 titles and 10,00 volumes of text and reference books. In addition it has
adequate collection of national journals. One of the major library resources is
the active subscription to AICTE-INDEST consortium of journals whereby the
students and teachers have access to more than 130 online electronic journals.
There is also a huge collection of
CDs and DVDs pertaining to Soft-Skill and Personality Development Programmes.

[with provision of ‘Study-Paper’ selection in specialized areas in
final semester]

The aforesaid courses are approved by
All India Council for Technical Education
[AICTE] and the degree is conferred upon by
West Bengal University of Technology.
